Secret Symbols of the Silent Sect

Lucas lived a basic, unremarkable life. Until he moved to Tateville, an isolated town shrouded in uncanny stillness.

Once settling into the Tateville Manor, the ancient house he inherited from his late uncle, he sensed something peculiar. He discovered aged dusty books in strange languages laying around, odd totems lined the mantle, and he often found himself drawn to dark cryptic symbols etched onto the manor's old walls. But, Lucas was intrigued more than frightened.

One night, while he was studying the symbols trying to decipher them, a knock disrupted his peaceful reverie. Little did he know, this visit would change his life forever. A cloaked stranger stood at the door, introducing himself as Erebus, the town's librarian and historian. He offered his aid to help Lucas understand his heritage and the secret of the symbols.

Erebus revealed that the symbols belonged to an ancient fraternity called 'The Silent Sect' which allegedly had controlled Tateville for centuries. As Lucas' found out about his ancestral link to the sect, he understood now that moving to Tateville was no mere twist of fate.

Deep in the library's hidden section devoted to the Sect, they discovered cryptic symbols matching those in the manor, pointing toward a forgotten prophecy. The prophecy warned about turmoil rising again in Tateville, and that the heir of the Silent Sect’s founding family, the one living in the Tateville Manor, would have to choose between preserving the status quo or disturbing the grave secrets resting beneath the ordinary-looking town.
